Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet, Party Committee Secretary and President of Thuyloi University, expressed his pleasure at welcoming the delegation from Chosun University.
According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet, the western area of Hanoi, particularly Hoa Lac, is undergoing significant infrastructure development and gradually establishing an ecosystem for education, science and technology. Establishing a language training centre in this area would create more favourable conditions for students to access an international learning environment while expanding their opportunities for further study, employment and career development.
Prof. Kim Chun-sung, President of Chosun University, expressed his pleasure at visiting Thuyloi University again and affirmed that Thuyloi University has always been regarded as one of Chosun University’s priority partners in its international cooperation strategy.

Introducing Chosun University’s development orientation for the coming period, Prof. Kim Chun-sung noted that the Gwangju–Jeonnam region, where the University is located, is attracting substantial investment from major corporations, particularly in the semiconductor industry. In response to significant changes in the labour market and the growing demand for highly qualified human resources, Chosun University is restructuring its academic programmes and implementing the Asian Global Campus project, with the aim of developing graduates capable of working in international environments. He expressed his hope that Thuyloi University would continue to work closely with Chosun University in training and developing high-quality human resources, thereby strengthening educational and workforce connections between Vietnam and South Korea.
During the discussion session, Prof. Cho Seung-hwan, Director of the External Affairs Office at Chosun University, provided a detailed introduction to the Pre-school Programme, an online Korean language training model designed for students planning to pursue their studies in South Korea.
The programme aims to equip students with fundamental knowledge of the Korean language and culture before their departure, helping them adapt more effectively to the academic and living environment in South Korea. In particular, it aligns with the growing emphasis on foreign language education and the expansion of access to Korean language learning opportunities for Vietnamese students. Chosun University has selected Thuyloi University as its pioneering partner in northern Vietnam for the programme.
Under the agreement, Chosun University will cover all costs associated with operating the online learning system and provide 100 free learning accounts to Thuyloi University students during the pilot phase, which will run until the end of 2027.
On the Thuyloi University side, the University’s leadership assigned the Department of Academic Affairs and the School of International Education to study appropriate mechanisms for recognising students’ learning outcomes and credits earned through the programme. This initiative is expected to provide students with additional options for meeting foreign language proficiency requirements and preparing for their studies in South Korea.
