(TLU) – On the afternoon of December 19, in Room 225/A2, Thuyloi University held a meeting to commend and reward student teams and individuals who achieved outstanding results in national and international Olympic competitions and the 2025 World Memory Championships.

The ceremony took place in a formal atmosphere in Room 225/A2, coinciding with the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 – December 19, 2025), reflecting the spirit of upholding the tradition of academic excellence and the aspiration to conquer knowledge among the University’s younger generation.

The year 2025 continued to witness remarkable breakthroughs in the Olympic movement and scientific research activities among Thuyloi University’s students. At the ceremony, the University’s Board of Management honored particularly outstanding achievements.

Specifically, in the field of information technology, the University’s Informatics Olympic team enjoyed a “golden season,” winning the Championship in the Open Source Software (OSS) category and the First Prize in the Informatics Specialist category – non-specialized division. These achievements are the result of systematic investment, discipline, and an effective training strategy by the Faculty of Information Technology, together with the dedicated guidance of the coaches.

Notably, this year marked a historic milestone when student Nguyen Thuy Duong (Class 67NNA1) excellently won the Gold Medal at the 34th World Memory Championship. This was the first time the competition was hosted in Vietnam, and Thuyloi University was honored to have its student stand on the highest podium, affirming Vietnamese intellect on the international stage.

In addition, the University’s Physics Olympic Team was also commended for achieving Third Prize overall at the National Student Physics Olympiad, further enriching the University’s record of outstanding achievements.

In his remarks at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet – President of Thuyloi University expressed his pride and deep emotion over the tireless efforts of both faculty and students. He emphasized that the medals and awards are not only personal honors but also clear evidence of the University’s training quality and academic standing.

“You have achieved glory, received investment from the University, and earned recognition from society. Now is the time for you to fulfill the responsibility of ‘spreading’. Use your intellect and skills to support and help other students progress together, so that no one is left behind. That is the highest humanistic value of education,” Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet stressed.

At the ceremony, the University’s leadership also reaffirmed its commitment to continued strong investment in infrastructure, modern laboratory facilities, and funding for the teams in the coming seasons.

Notably, alongside fostering intellectual development, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet directed the establishment of a Martial Arts Club, inviting renowned masters to provide direct instruction. This initiative aims toward a holistic education model, in which Thuyloi University students are not only academically strong and creatively minded, but also physically robust and imbued with a chivalrous spirit, ready to serve the nation.

On behalf of the teams, student Dao Van Dat (ICPC team) and Nguyen Thuy Duong (World Memory Champion) expressed their sincere gratitude for the care and support of the Party Committee, the University’s Board, and their coaches. They also pledged to continue striving for excellence and to spread their passion for learning throughout the entire student community of the University.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the University’s leadership presented certificates of merit and awards to the teams and individuals, bringing to a close a vibrant year of activities and opening new expectations for 2026.
