On the afternoon of October 2, 2025, Thuyloi University held a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Technobridge NKE Co., Ltd. (Japan), with the participation of Vietnam-Japan Engineering Consultants Company Limited (VJEC). This marked an important milestone, opening a new stage in the cooperative relationship between the University and Japanese enterprises.

From Technobridge NKE, the delegation included Mr. Tanaka Hirokazu – General Director, Mr. Takeuchi Takashi – Project Director, together with project coordinators in Vietnam. From VJEC, participants included Mr. Nomura Tadashi – Chairman & CEO, Mr. Nguyen Phu Hien – Executive Director, and the Head of Human Resources.

Representing Thuyloi University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai – Vice President, along with leaders from the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Water Resources Engineering, and the Institute for Applied Research of Technology and Enterprise Partnership.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai – Vice President of Thuyloi University expressed his delight at the new progress in cooperation between the two sides since their first official meeting in June 2025. He emphasized that the cooperation not only brings benefits to the University’s staff and faculty in research and technology transfer, but also creates many internship and employment opportunities for students, particularly in the field of construction and high-quality human resources development. “I firmly believe that the cooperation between Thuyloi University, Technobridge NKE and VJEC will continue to grow, bringing practical benefits to all three parties,” Vice President Nguyen Canh Thai stressed.
Mr. Tanaka Hirokazu – General Director of Technobridge NKE expressed his sincere appreciation to the leadership of Thuyloi University for facilitating the meeting and the signing ceremony. He noted that in the context of climate change and increasingly severe natural disasters, the safety of infrastructure plays a vital role. With over 45 years of experience in steel bridge design and maintenance, and by applying information technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in construction and disaster prevention, Technobridge aims to cooperate with the University to jointly research, develop and transfer advanced technological solutions. In addition, through the JP Career project, the company will continue to support Vietnamese students in language training, professional skills, and Japanese corporate culture, thereby helping them gain more opportunities to work in Japan as well as return to contribute to the development of Vietnam.

Mr. Nomura Tadashi – Chairman & CEO of VJEC, expressed his honor to continue accompanying Thuyloi University in international cooperation activities. He emphasized that VJEC’s mission is to bring Japan’s advanced technologies to Vietnam while seeking opportunities for research collaboration and technology transfer in areas such as bridge construction, slope stabilization, and human resource development. He also referred to several pilot projects on soil anchoring technology in Vietnam that VJEC has been implementing.

Representatives from Thuyloi University’s faculties and institutes also shared many directions for cooperation with Japanese enterprises, particularly in bridge and road construction, disaster prevention, applied research, and international human resource development. The University has accumulated valuable experience in sending students for internships and training programs in Japan and other countries, creating a solid foundation for expanding collaboration in the near future.

Mr. Takeuchi Takashi – Project Director, Technobridge NKE affirmed the company’s readiness to accompany Thuyloi University in research and training activities. He expressed his expectation that through this cooperation, students would not only be equipped with professional knowledge but also gain exposure to corporate culture and practical skills, enabling them to confidently integrate into the international labor market.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Thuyloi University and Technobridge NKE represents a crucial foundation for further cooperation between the University and Japanese enterprises, ensuring that activities are practical, sustainable, and effective. It is also a testament to Thuyloi University’s continued efforts to strengthen international cooperation, link training with practice, and bring new opportunities for students, lecturers, and the wider community.

In the coming time, both parties will work together to develop an implementation plan for the MOU, aiming to concretize the cooperation results and ensure effectiveness in line with shared goals for the community.
