Speaking at the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai, Vice President of Thuyloi University, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from Guangxi Normal University to visit and work with the University. He shared information about the University’s key training strengths and its internationalization orientation as Vietnam enters a new era of development, while also expressing the hope that both sides would cooperate in conducting joint research in areas of mutual interest, such as water resources engineering and environmental engineering.
Representing the delegation, Vice President Shen Xingcan expressed her sincere appreciation for the warm reception extended by Thuyloi University. Guangxi Normal University is one of the key universities in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, with strengths in teacher education, natural sciences, engineering, and applied research. Prof. Shen Xingcan noted that Guangxi Normal University hopes to promote cooperation with Thuyloi University in areas such as human resource training, scientific research, and faculty and student exchanges, thereby contributing to strengthening educational connectivity between Vietnam and China.
Assoc. Prof. Zeng Zhenhua, Party Secretary of the Faculty of Environment and Resources at Guangxi Normal University, also delivered a presentation on the Faculty’s development orientation as well as its training and research capacities. Accordingly, the Faculty of Environment and Resources is one of the University’s key academic units in the fields of environmental science and environmental engineering. In particular, Environmental Science has been identified as one of the University’s priority disciplines.
Representatives of specialized units from both universities discussed various potential areas of cooperation, including the implementation of joint academic programs; the organization of short-term courses and exchange programs for faculty members and students; and the promotion of collaborative research in environmental science, water resources management, and green technology.
Representatives from Guangxi Normal University also expressed their interest in welcoming faculty members and students from Thuyloi University to participate in upcoming international training and academic exchange programs.
Notably, Guangxi Normal University proposed the implementation of the Chinese Government International Scholarship Program on Ecological Carbon Neutrality for 15 faculty members and staff of Thuyloi University. The University also introduced a summer camp program for youth, student, and faculty exchanges between Vietnam and China, which is expected to be held in Guangxi in the near future for a delegation consisting of one lecturer and four students from Thuyloi University.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue detailed discussions on potential areas of cooperation in order to further promote collaboration in education and scientific research, as well as actively implement and enhance academic exchange activities between Thuyloi University and Guangxi Normal University in the coming time.
