On September 24, 2026, at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Vietnam, Thuyloi University attended and signed the “Agreement on the Provision of Chinese Language Teachers between the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, China and Thuyloi University”. The event was attended by representatives of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, China, the Embassy of China in Vietnam, and leaders of Thuyloi University, Hanoi National University of Education, and Hanoi University of Mining and Geology.

In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Luo Yaoguang, Counselor for Education at the Embassy of China in Vietnam, expressed his pleasure at welcoming representatives from Vietnamese universities to the signing ceremony. He affirmed that the Embassy of China is always ready to support, promote connections and facilitate cooperation between Vietnamese higher education institutions and Chinese universities and educational organizations.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Yu Tianqi, Deputy Director of Center for Language Education and Cooperation, emphasized that educational exchanges between Vietnam and China have a long history and have achieved fruitful results, providing a favorable foundation for further expanding Chinese language education activities in Vietnam. Alongside the increasingly extensive development of economic, trade and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, the demand for learning and using Chinese in Vietnam has also received growing attention.
She also referred to the direction of strengthening Vietnam-China cooperation stated in the Joint Statement between Vietnam and China during the State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam in April 2026. Cooperation in education, training, and human resource development is also an area that the two countries continue to promote through bilateral cooperation documents.
Introducing Center for Language Education and Cooperation, China, Ms. Yu Tianqi stated that the Center is affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China and is responsible for supporting the implementation of Chinese language education overseas, training and developing Chinese language teachers, and providing high-quality Chinese language education services to learners around the world. Cooperation with universities with strong academic expertise is expected to enable learners not only to improve their Chinese language proficiency but also to develop professional knowledge and skills, thereby better meeting their educational and career needs in an international environment.

Speaking at the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Canh Thai, Vice President of Thuyloi University, affirmed that Thuyloi University has maintained long-standing and close cooperation with Chinese educational and research institutions since the University’s early years of development. Thuyloi University has signed memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements with numerous Chinese universities, water resources management agencies, and research institutes. In addition, approximately 40 university staff members and lecturers have received training in China.
He expressed his appreciation to Embassy of China in Vietnam and Center for Language Education and Cooperation for their attention and support, as well as for arranging Chinese language teachers to teach at Thuyloi University. This support contributes to strengthening the University’s teaching staff, improving the quality of Chinese language education, and creating more opportunities for students to engage in language and cultural exchange.
Thuyloi University also expressed its desire to further expand cooperation with Chinese partners, including facilitating opportunities for the University’s lecturers and students to study and undertake professional development in China, improve their language proficiency, and thereby contribute to the sustainable development of Chinese language education at the University.

The signing of the Agreement on Provision of Chinese Language Teachers marks a new step in the development of cooperation between Thuyloi University and its Chinese partners, while also contributing to the implementation of educational exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. The Agreement is expected to provide further opportunities for Thuyloi University to enhance the quality of Chinese language education, strengthen exchanges between lecturers and students of the two countries, and gradually integrate language training with professional knowledge and skills, thereby meeting human resource needs amid the increasingly extensive cooperation between Vietnam and China.
