Strengthening Cooperation with Moscow State University of Civil Engineering for the 2026–2030 Period

 

On the morning of May 21, 2026, Thuyloi University held a reception and working session with a high-level delegation from Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU, Russian Federation). The delegation included Prof. Pavel Akimov, Rector of MGSU, and Prof. Olga Kuzina, Vice Rector for International Relations.

The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. President Nguyen Trung Viet shared insights into the close relationship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia, noting that many generations of leaders, faculty members, and staffs of Thuyloi University had previously studied and conducted research at Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.

On behalf of Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, Rector Pavel Akimov expressed his honor in visiting and working with Thuyloi University. He also shared his strong connection with Vietnam through the long-standing relationship between the two countries, noting that many faculty members and students of MGSU had participated in the construction of projects and infrastructure works in Vietnam.

Moscow State University of Civil Engineering is one of the leading universities in the Russian Federation in the fields of civil engineering and construction technology. Prof. Pavel Akimov also discussed the University’s outstanding achievements in construction and hydraulic engineering, particularly its research and calculations related to wind loads, snowstorms, and large-scale engineering structures.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and discussed several important directions for future cooperation, including student and faculty exchange programs; the development of international and dual-degree training programs; collaboration in scientific research; the establishment of joint laboratories and research centers; and the promotion of cooperation in key areas of mutual strength such as hydraulic engineering, digital modeling, structural mechanics, new materials, environmental studies, and smart construction.

Vice Rector Olga Kuzina also expressed her impression of the scale of education, development orientation, and remarkable achievements of Thuyloi University in education, scientific research, and international quality accreditation. The two sides proceeded to sign a Cooperation Agreement, establishing a foundation for promoting specific collaborative activities in the coming period.

The working session with Moscow State University of Civil Engineering not only opened up many practical opportunities for cooperation between the two universities, but also continued to strengthen the long-standing traditional relationship between generations of intellectuals and scientists of Vietnam and the Russian Federation in the fields of engineering, construction, and water resources.
