On November 24, 2025, Thuyloi University welcomed and held a working session with a delegation from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft, the Netherlands) as part of activities to promote cooperation in education and research between the two institutions. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet, President of Thuyloi University, with the participation of leaders from the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation and the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

TU Delft informed that the funding agency had sent representatives to Vietnam in October 2025 to conduct a field survey in the Mekong Delta, accompanied by the research teams of both universities. The delegation also expressed appreciation for Thuyloi University’s support for Dutch students participating in exchange programs, and voiced its desire to further expand joint research activities, strengthen student and faculty exchanges, and jointly explore funding opportunities in the coming period.
During the discussion, both sides focused on internationalization trends in research activities, enhancing scientific publication capacity, and support schemes such as scholarships and fellowships, particularly in emerging and high-interest fields such as semiconductors. From Thuyloi University’s side, representatives of the Faculty of Civil Engineering proposed continued collaboration in developing funding proposals under government-level programs and international organizations, especially projects related to climate change and water resources.

The meeting between the two institutions’ representatives contributed to further strengthening the close and sustainable partnership between Thuyloi University and Delft University of Technology. At the conclusion of the working session, both sides agreed to continue maintaining regular academic exchange mechanisms, jointly seek research funding sources, and promote the implementation of the Mekong Delta Living Lab Project in the next phase.
