On the afternoon of November 6, at Room P225/A2, the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) took place. Attending the ceremony on behalf of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) were Ms. Khuat Thi Lien Huong, Director of Education for Mainland Southeast Asia, and Ms. Pham Xuan Hong Hanh, Deputy Head of the Partner Relations Division, Education Sector, ACCA Vietnam. Representing Thuyloi University were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet, President of the University, together with representatives of relevant departments and units, as well as lecturers and students from the Faculty of Accounting and Business.

Founded in 1904, ACCA has provided professionals in finance, accounting, and auditing with a professional qualification that is widely recognized worldwide. Today, ACCA is one of the fastest-growing and largest professional associations globally, with offices in more than 170 countries and a large international membership.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet, President of Thuyloi University, expressed his pleasure and sincere appreciation to ACCA’s leadership for their trust in renewing the cooperation agreement for the mutual benefit of both parties.

The President noted that the former Faculty of Economics and Management, which previously offered 11 academic programs, has been restructured into two faculties: the Faculty of Economics and Management (7 programs) and the Faculty of Accounting and Business (4 programs). In the broader national context, the University’s enrollment results this year have shown positive progress at both training campuses.

For the field of economics, particularly accounting and auditing under the ACCA-oriented approach, cooperation with enterprises and partners is of great importance in ensuring that students not only study in an academic environment but are also closely connected with real-world practice. Therefore, the President expressed his hope that following today’s renewal of the cooperation agreement, ACCA would enable students to participate in real practical platforms, rather than limiting their experience to internships at enterprises. At the same time, he hoped that ACCA would continue to accompany the University more closely, strengthen cooperation, and provide greater support for the Faculty in particular and Thuyloi University as a whole.

At the ceremony, Ms. Khuat Thi Lien Huong, representative of ACCA, also expressed her pleasure at the three-year cooperation with the University, which has led to today’s initial achievements in benchmarking, updating, and developing curricula that are well suited to the University’s lecturers and students.

Both the ACCA team and the Faculty of Accounting and Business hope that this year the University will officially enroll students in the career-oriented program. Students will receive support so that upon graduation they will obtain not only the University’s degree but also the international ACCA certification. This is one of the outcomes of the first Memorandum of Understanding. During the next phase of cooperation, the ACCA representative expressed her hope that the University and ACCA will continue to work effectively for mutual benefit, with a clear commitment to placing students at the center of the partnership.

The University’s lecturers have actively participated in training programs (Train the Trainers) and in ACCA lecturer community networking programs in Vietnam and the region; meanwhile, students have taken part in career-sharing sessions and professional competitions organized by ACCA, thereby expanding their access to international professional standards.

Notably, a key outcome of the cooperation has been the development and initial implementation of the Accounting training program integrated with the international ACCA professional certification, which has officially begun student enrollment from the 2025–2026 academic year.
