Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship – SATREPS Project

According to the information provided by Gunma University (Japan), under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship – SATREPS Project, one doctoral candidate will be nominated to pursue a Doctoral Program at Gunma University.

The scholarship information is as follows:

  • Enrollment: October 2026
  • Duration of study: 3 years
  • Selection process:
    • Preliminary application submitted to JST by January 18, 2026
    • Official MEXT selection: March 2026 (expected results in June 2026)
    • Online entrance interview conducted by Gunma University

Eligibility requirements:

  1. Applicants must be currently working or studying at an institution participating in the SATREPS project, born on or after April 2, 1991, and must not have received a MEXT Scholarship within the past three years.
  2. Additional requirements:
    • Minimum GPA: 2.3
    • Language proficiency: JLPT N2 or above, or English proficiency equivalent to CEFR B2 or above. For applicants without a language certificate, their language proficiency may be assessed through an online interview conducted by staff from the Global Initiative Center (GIC), Gunma University.
