Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation is pleased to announce information about an international short course organized by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia, with the following key details:

Short Course in Agri-Food Sector – Nature X ScienceTech Innovation: Co-creating Sustainable Agro-Food Industry and Climate Solutions for Resilient Planet

2. Organizer

Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia

3. Course Description

  • The course focuses on integrating Nature-based Solutions (NbS) with modern digital science and technologies, including AI, IoT, and remote sensing, in the agri-food sector.
  • It highlights the potential of combining nature and technology to develop sustainable and climate-resilient agri-food systems, while contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

4. Schedule and Format

  • Course period: April 6–18, 2026
  • Format: Blended
    • Pre-course session: April 6–12, 2026 (online and largely asynchronous)
    • Course session: April 13–18, 2026 (on-site and synchronous online)

Participants may choose to attend the entire course online or participate on-site at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FAT), UGM, after completing the Pre-course session.

5. Benefits

  • The course may be recognized as 3 SKS / 4.5 ECTS.
  • Field trips, group work, and final presentations.
  • Free shared accommodation for international participants attending on-site.
  • Early-bird incentives:
    • Participation fee waived for the first 20 international participants registering online.
    • Full participation fee reimbursement for the first 20 international participants registering for on-site attendance.
    • Full visa fee reimbursement for the first 10 international participants.
